There are many factors that could influence the taste of your e-liquid making it taste burnt. Fortunately there are a few steps you can follow to prevent this from happening:
Coils usually last anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on your usage. We always recommend replacing your old coils with a new one at the appropriate time as old coils are unable to produce good flavour.
Not priming your coil enough is another reason why your e-liquid may taste burnt. To prime your coil, add a few drops of e-liquid to each of the side wick holes, and also on top of the coil. After it is well saturated, you can assemble your device and continue to fill up your tank with e-liquid. Make sure to take 4-5 dry puffs to draw out the e-liquid (take a few puffs without activating the power button on your device). Afterwards, let the coil sit for a few minutes before taking your first puff. These steps will make sure your coil is properly saturated and primed.
Vaping at a too high temperature will most likely burn out your coil, so make sure to start at a lower temperature and work your way up to your sweet spot.
Some atomizers cannot properly handle a thick e-liquid (high VG) because it is too thick. There are atomizers made specially for thick e-liquids, so if you prefer a high VG e-liquid, just make sure you have the proper atomizer! We recommend starting with a lower VG e-liquid like 50VG/50PG.
Chain vaping is when you take multiple hits continuously without stopping for a period of time. This can damage your coil by not giving it enough time to soak up more e-liquid between puffs. This will cause the wick to dry out and burn, resulting in diminishing flavour and followed by a burnt taste. Make sure to slow down and give your coil some time to re-prime.
Cold temperature can sometimes affect the flavour by thickening your e-liquid and making it not wick properly, resulting in the burnt taste. Avoid storing your e-liquid and device in extreme cold weather to prevent the e-liquid from thickening.
